Black-winged Stilt
(Resident species)
The Black-winged Stilt is one of Tainan’s “Three Treasures”. It has a black and white body and beautiful, pink-colored long legs. Once a winter migratory bird, it was found nesting and breeding at Sihcao Wildlife Refuge in 1992. A special breeding reserve has been established to protect the Black-winged Stilt.
